If you’ve always wanted to know where it all started, we’ve pieced this timeline together to highlight the major events, those involved and what’s required to put together something as significant as this.

November 5th, 2016
1st 42 Hour Challenge and fundraiser for the memorial.
November 18th, 2016
1st meeting to confirm the establishment of the 42 for 42 organisation and start the memorial project.
January 26th, 2017
1st 42 Ball Bash held in Cranbourne, Victoria.
February 23rd, 2017
1st official meeting of the 42 for 42 Incorporation.
March 9th, 2017
1st meeting and planning with Hutchinson Builders.
July 26th, 2017
Landscape Architect Tanya Wood (TWLA) commissioned to plan & design the memorial garden.
October 4th, 2017
1st official memorial site survey completed.
November 10th, 2017
2nd 42 Hour Challenge held at Suncorp Stadium.
January 26th, 2018
2nd Annual 42 Ball Bash held in Cranbourne, Victoria
May 20th, 2018
1st 42 for 42 Memorial Luncheon held at The Queensland Crickets Club.
May 23rd, 2018
1st planning meeting held with Cardno Engineering.
June 23rd, 2018
Meeting with Federal Member of Brisbane for Government support.
August 29th, 2018
Site meeting with all stakeholders to confirm the required paperwork needed to finalise the memorial site.
September 7th, 2018
Commissioned artist, Wayne Strickland, to make statues for the memorial.
October 10th, 2018
Site meeting done with 6th Brigade (Army) and having assistance with the memorial.
October 17th, 2018
Committee vote in the decision to make a mobile App for the memorial to help with education about the war.
October 28th, 2018
Mural artwork artist, Lee Harden, commissioned and design to start.
November 9th, 2018
3rd Annual 42 Hour Challenge held at Suncorp Stadium.
January 25th, 2019
3rd Annual 42 Ball Bash held in Cranbourne, Victoria.
March 20th, 2019
Commissioned Talbot Walsh Engraving & Signs to begin work for the memorial plaques.
March 15th, 2019
2nd Annual Memorial Luncheon held at The Queensland Cricketers Club.
April 18th, 2019
Site meeting with signboard designer, Fabsigns, to begin work on memorial information boards.
August 7th, 2019
Federal grant received.
September 31st, 2019
Meeting with BCC to organise final paperwork required.
November 22nd, 2019
4th Annual 42 Hour Challenge held at Suncorp Stadium.
January 21st, 2020
Access agreement for the memorial site completed.
January 26th, 2020
4th Annual 42 Ball Bash held in Cranbourne, Victoria.
February 17th, 2020
Design of the Mental Health plaques & Military Dogs.
March 20th, 2020
Completion of the 42 plaques for the fallen.
April 4th, 2020
Completion of posts for the memorial plaques.
July 16th, 2020
Officially become trustees and landholders of Memorial site.
August 12th, 2020

𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗖𝗦𝗖 has been a long time supporter and has helped push our agenda forward.

The 1st Annual 42 Hour Endurance Challenge held at the Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera, organised by the 6 Brigade & 7 Brigade.
November 13th, 2020
The 5th Annual 42 Hour Challenge, held at Suncorp Stadium, from Friday the 13th of November till Sunday the 15th.
March 12th, 2021
Our 3th 42 for 42 Annual Memorial Luncheon, held at the Queensland Cricketers Club with Dr Brendan Nelson (AO), Ian Healy (AO), Carl Rackemann ((OAM) and Michael Kasprowicz.
